 In the name of the great God of heaven amen:  I William Tarpley of Charlotte County being deeply afflicted by the hand of providence and recollecting the uncertainty of human life and the importance of adjusting all my worldly concerns, being uninfeared in memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following:  I desire that all my just debts be collected and paid and my estate of whatever nature or kind so ever which it hath pleased God to bestow on me, I give and bequath in manner following.  It is my will that my dear and affectionate wife Mary have the use of all my estate real and personal during her natural life and after her death to be equality divided, share & share alike between my brothers Robert Tarpley, Thomas Tarpley, John Tarpley, Peterson Tarpley and my Sisters Molly Eudailey, Betsey Miller, Nancy Tarpley, Sally Tarpley, Winney Tarpley, Lucy Tarpley and their heirs forever.  I do appoint my wife Mary and my friend James Elmore Jr. Exors of this my last will and testament, revoking all former will by me made declaring this writing alone to be my will:  I testimony where of I have hereto set my hand this Twenty ninth day of April in the year of our lord God one thousand seven hundred and ninety four.
