Scott Harris Hall,
known as
Harris, was born and raised on the family farm in Charlotte County,
Virginia,
the first of two sons born to Scott Thomas and Pearlie Carroll Hall. He
was
educated in the public school system and graduated from Randolph Henry
High
School.
During World War II
he was
stationed in the Burma Theater and participated in the construction of
the
Burma Road (as seen in the picture above). After returning from the war
he
married Grace Tharpe to whom were born two sons and a daughter.
Harris was well
known and
respected in and around Charlotte County; he was a successful farmer,
U.S.
Rural Mail Carrier, Insurance Agent, member of the Charlotte County
Board of Supervisors and lifelong active member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.
