L. Berryman Driskill, was born in Rockbridge County, Va. on February 9, 1846; the son of Joseph W. and Frances A. Trent.

After the war, "Berry" located in Charlotte County where he took up farming until the time of his death.  On February 26, 1868 he married Sarah Elizabeth Barksdale and this union was blessed with 12 children.

"Berry" died on March 1, 1927 in Charlotte County, at the home of his son with whom he was residing. He was listed as a member of  the H.A.  Carrington  Camp,  United Confederate  Veterans  in 1922.

He is buried at the Driskill Family Cemetery in Drakes Branch.
