HENRY WASHINGTON PRIDDY
Private - U.S. Army Air Forces - WWII 

Henry Washington Priddy,  born: Apr. 12, 1902 - died: Dec. 19, 1944. He was the son of James Herbert and Elizabeth Lee Priddy.
Henry was born and raised in Charlotte County, Virginia.

           

Henry enlisted into the U.S. Army on August 8, 1938, serial number 6796409, and served his country in the 391st Fighter Squadron, attached to the 366th Fighter Group of the Army Air Corps.  The squadron was constituted on May 24, 1943 and with the fighter group it moved to England in the New Year of 1944. There they supported Allied efforts in the European Theater from March until D-Day. Henry lost his life during this service and was buried in the newly made Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, Holland.

He was further memorialized on his Mother and Father's tombstone in the Merry Oaks Cemetery of his native Charlotte County.
