Obit: Joseph Abraham Queen Dies At Ripe Age of 73
The death of Joseph Abraham Queen, age 73 years and 8 months, was a shock to
the community June 26, 1928. Death was caused by heart trouble. He was confined
to his room only 5 days. Mr. Queen was born in Wilkes County, N.C., in 1854, and in 1876 was married to
Miss Climentine Queen, of Alexander County, N.C. To this union was born four
sons and three daughters. He was a farmer all his life. He came to Keysville in
1911 and continued farming. He was a loving husband, a kind father, and a good neighbor.
Mr. Queen was a member of the Baptist Church, and rejoiced in the Savior's love
and was ready to meet his maker.
Surviving him is his wife, Mr. J. A. Queen, seven children, ; B.F. and W.A.
Queen, Keysville, R.K. Queen, Hiddenite, N.C., J.V. Queen, Hendersonville,
N.C.; Mrs. W.H. Gladden, Rock Hill, S.C.; one sister, Mrs. W.E. Bowles,
Hiddenite, N.C.; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Interment was at Keysville Baptist Church, Wednesday, June 27, at 4 p.m.
